Collagraph Printmaking

Have you always been curious about Printmaking but weren't sure you could do it without any experience? Then this is the workshop for you! You can learn in this 2 day course designed for those with no experience but lots of curiosity. Collagraph printmaking is an intaglio process using collage techniques to create printing plates. Using found materials, household items, and a bit of invention, you can get results unlike any other printmaking medium. Collagraph prints can also be easily combined with other printmaking processes. The first session will focus on collage techniques and operation of the printing press. During the second session, we spend the day experimenting with printing. You'll be using PAL's classic Griffin printer that is newly refurbished to it's original glory! No previous printmaking experience required, but also an excellent opportunity for those with experience that can't commit to a weekly class.

Stylizing Images

Stylize is defined as a means to represent something according to a practical format or structure, rather than the rules of nature.

As photographers, we strive to “make” images that are different and exude a “personal” feel. Where do you start? Where do you get inspiration? How do you go about making unique images? What tools do you need?

The Stylizing Images workshop is about “discovering” your inner artistry and giving you the tools that will enable you to turn your images into masterpieces. We start the workshop by showing examples on how “standard” images have been processed to make compelling masterpieces. (See the transformation of the ballerina photo.)

Let reknowned photographer, Oliver Klink, teach you the step-by-step process that will enable you to turn your photographs into masterpieces. Through hands-on exercises and increasing your knowledge of photoshop, you’ll leave the workshop with the standard image and the finished one with all the steps and layers.

Upon signing up for the workshop, you will receive a coursebook with recommended readings, what to bring, and much more.

Instructor Website

Additional Information

Photoshop knowledge is a prerequisite. Oliver will supply you with the a photoshop tutorial link that must be taken prior to the Workshop.
