From Ideas to Paintings: Using Digital Tools to Plan Painted Compositions


Understanding digital techniques can help conceptual and representational painters realize their ideas and iterate quickly. This class teaches students how to use Adobe Photoshop to create, combine, and manipulate images to create unique reference images for painted compositions. After designing compositions digitally, students will learn best practices for translating their mock up into a traditional painting. No class 11/28 *Students must bring their own laptops with Adobe Photoshop or comparable software such as Affinity Photo, Sketch, or GIMP
