Legion of Honor: The Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood

Description

This tour at The Legion of Honor, focuses on the exhibition of Pre-Raphaelite and Old Masters. In 1848—a year of political revolution across Europe—seven young Englishmen formed an artistic alliance aspiring to rebel against the contemporary Victorian art world. These artists defied idealized figures popularized by Raphael and other High Renaissance artists. The tour is followed by an onsite workshop of drawing and sketching the works by these masters.
